We provide a specialist provision and personalised learning that enables each pupil to ‘Dream, Achieve, Believe’ from the beginning of their journey with us.
Our Specialist Environment ensures pupils have access to:
- An autism friendly environment, which helps us all be calm, alert and ready to learn.
- A safe indoor and outdoor learning environment that supports and encourages pupils to be inquisitive towards the 7 areas of learning.
- TEACCH workstations.
- Our Discovery room – Providing an immersive experience that pulls our pupils into another real or imagined world, enabling them to manipulate and interact with their environment.
- A safe pond place area that allows active exploration and participation with the natural world.
And local facilities we use:
- Play Park
- Nailsea town, shops, etc.
- Christ Church in Nailsea
- Beachfront at Clevedon
Partnerships with parents and carers
- We carefully plan each child’s transition into Ravenswood, meeting with families and professionals who already know the child well.
- Daily communication with parents/carers is important especially as many of our families live a distance from the school. We regularly write messages using Seesaw and email, as well as being available for phone calls.
- Amy Baker, our Family Support Advisor and Liz Mullane our Healthcare Assistant are always ready to meet with and support families. Katie Barnes, our Deputy Headteacher and Becky Rubidge, Early Years Lead and Head of the Primary Department, are experts in Early Years provision for children with complex needs. You are always welcomed and encouraged to contact us with any queries and we will happily support in every way we can.
- Every term we have tea and coffee afternoons which are informal ways to talk with staff and meet other families.
Your child’s progress
We want to celebrate with you the progress your child makes and do this informally through the above communication systems. We will also share with you:

- Daily updates of learning and behaviour through Seesaw (Seesaw for schools is a digital app-based platform that allows pupils, teachers, and parents or carers to complete and share learning).
