Well, term one has flown by, it has been a pleasure to see how well our new pupils have settled into life at Ravenswood and how welcoming our returning pupils have made everyone feel. The staff have been incredibly busy providing fun and exciting lessons during the term. One highlight this term for me, is seeing the pupils using the new kiln. Each class are producing items that we are going to sell at a local charity shop SENSE and at our school fayre. This is a really good enterprise project that is helping pupils understand about the world of work alongside working with our local community.
Away from learning we are also in the process of painting the whole school with many classrooms already completed, this work is planned to continue until January. It has made a great difference to our environment creating a calm environment for pupils to learn. We have also updated our catering room providing six new cookers for the classes to help develop their life skills.
I also need to mention a big thank you to the customers of Tesco, who by popping the blue tokens into the Ravenswood School drop have allowed us to purchase six new pedal go karts that the pupils are already making good use of, this is helping them all exercise while having fun.
I do hope that you all have a safe holiday and those who celebrate it, enjoy the festival of Halloween and Diwali.
We are very much looking forward to working with you all in term 2.
